A fitted wardrobe uses the space a freestanding one can't, right up to the ceiling and into the awkward corners, so you get far more storage out of the same room. I measure up, work out the layout with you, hanging rails, shelves, drawers, shoe racks, whatever you actually use, then build and fit it scribed tight to your walls and floor. Older houses are never square, so everything gets cut to follow the room. Alcove units either side of a chimney breast, a run of bedroom wardrobes, or a single made-to-measure cupboard all work the same way. Finishes range from painted MDF to sprayed doors, so it matches the room rather than looking bolted on.

How much do fitted wardrobes cost in Nottingham?+
It depends on the size, the layout inside and the finish. A single alcove wardrobe is at the lower end; a full wall of bedroom wardrobes with drawers, shelves and sprayed doors is more. Because I build and fit them myself with no showroom mark-up, made-to-measure usually comes in below the big national companies. I'll measure up and give you a fixed written price.
Do you do fitted bedroom wardrobes?+
Yes, bedroom wardrobes are the bulk of this work. A run along one wall, wardrobes either side of a bed, or wrapping into an awkward corner, all built to the height and depth that suits your room and what you're storing.
Are fitted wardrobes better than freestanding ones?+
For most rooms, yes. A fitted wardrobe goes right to the ceiling and into corners a freestanding unit wastes, so you get noticeably more storage. They also look part of the room rather than a separate lump of furniture, and they don't collect dust on top.
Can you build wardrobes into a sloped or loft ceiling?+
Yes. Loft rooms and sloped ceilings are exactly where fitted wardrobes earn their keep, because nothing off the shelf fits them. I build to follow the slope so you use the low space for drawers and shoe storage instead of losing it.
Do you do alcove units and shelving either side of a chimney?+
Yes, that's a popular one. Alcove cupboards with shelving or a TV unit above, built to fit the exact width and depth of the recess. They're never the same size both sides, so each one's made to measure.
What finishes can I have?+
Painted MDF in a colour of your choice is the common one, and it can be matched to your walls or done as a contrast. Sprayed doors give a smoother factory-style finish. We'll talk through doors, handles and internal layout when I survey.
How long does it take to fit a wardrobe?+
A single alcove unit might be a day or two on site once it's made. A full wall of wardrobes is longer. There's usually a wait between the survey and the fit while the units are made, and I'll give you the dates up front.
Do you design the inside as well, with drawers and rails?+
Yes. The inside is the bit you live with, so we plan it around what you've actually got, hanging space for long and short items, drawers, shelves, shoe racks and so on. No point in a wardrobe that looks smart but doesn't hold your stuff.
Can you match the wardrobes to my existing furniture?+
Within reason, yes. I can match a paint colour and pick handles and door styles that sit well with what you've already got, so it looks like it belongs in the room rather than added on later.
